Winters Brit Bowler batting challenge


Terms and conditions


These terms and conditions apply to the Winters Brit Bowler Batting Challenge run by Winters Solutions CC during the PEL tournament weekend at the cricket nets at Die Hoërskool Menlopark.


Challenge dates and prize award


Participants may complete their over at the cricket nets on 29 May 2026, 30 May 2026, or the morning of 31 May 2026, subject to availability and the running of the competition on the day.


The final winner will be determined after all eligible participants have completed their overs, and the winning team’s prize will be awarded on 31 May 2026.


Winters Solutions CC reserves the right to adjust the competition timing, prize award timing, or participation window if required due to weather, safety concerns, operational requirements, venue requirements, or any other reasonable circumstances.


By nominating or allowing a player to participate, the team owner, coach, and participant agree to the terms below.


  1. Competition organiser

    1. The competition is organised and run by Winters Solutions CC.

    2. Two representatives from Winters Solutions CC will manage the challenge, oversee scoring, and make final decisions relating to the competition.


  1. Competition format

    1. Each participating team may nominate 1 batter to face 1 over against the Brit Bowler bowling machine.

    2. Each over will consist of 6 balls.

    3. The same bowling speed will be used for all batters to ensure that the competition is fair and consistent.

    4. Standard orange practice balls will be used.

    5. Physical stumps will be used as the wicket.


  1. Player nomination

    1. Each team may nominate 1 player to represent their team in the challenge.

    2. The nominated player may be selected by the team owner or coach.

    3. If more than 1 player from the same team arrives to participate, the first player from that team to volunteer will be recorded as the official player of record for that team.

    4. Once a player has been recorded, that player may not be substituted unless Winters Solutions CC allows this at its discretion.


  1. Age group

    1. The challenge is open to the participating PEL teams, which may include both U14 and U15 players.

    2. All players will compete in the same challenge and under the same scoring system.


  1. Scoring system

    1. Points will be awarded as follows: Miss: 0 points Block: 1 point Scoring shot: 2 points Bowled / wicket hit: -1 point.

    2. The batter with the highest total score after their over will be declared the winner.


  1. Scoring decisions

    1. Scoring will be determined by 2 representatives from Winters Solutions CC.

    2. The Winters Solutions CC representatives will decide whether a ball is recorded as a miss, block, scoring shot, or wicket.

    3. All scoring decisions made by the Winters Solutions CC representatives will be final.


  1. Tie-breaker

    1. In the event of a tie, the tied batters will participate in a sudden-death over.

    2. Sudden death rounds will continue until there is a definitive winner.

    3. The same scoring system will apply during sudden-death rounds unless Winters Solutions CC decides otherwise for practical, safety, or timing reasons.


  1. Prize

    1. The winning batter’s team will receive a hamper of sweets, chips, and drinks.

    2. The prize is awarded to the winning batter’s team and may not be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash.

    3. The winning batter may be recognised on Winters Solutions CC’s social media platforms.


  1. Equipment

    1. Participants must use their own cricket gear.

    2. This includes, but is not limited to, a bat, helmet, pads, gloves, and any other protective gear required by the player, coach, team owner, parent, or guardian.

    3. Winters Solutions CC will not be responsible for providing personal cricket gear to participants.


  1. Safety

    1. All participants must wear appropriate protective gear while taking part in the challenge.

    2. Participants must follow all instructions given by Winters Solutions CC representatives.

    3. Winters Solutions CC reserves the right to stop, delay, or refuse participation if a player does not appear to have suitable protective gear, does not follow instructions, or if Winters Solutions CC believes participation may create a safety risk.


  1. Participation by minors

    1. The players participating in the challenge are minors.

    2. Permission from the player’s coach or team owner will be accepted as sufficient permission for the player to participate in the challenge.

    3. By allowing a player to participate, the coach or team owner confirms that the player has permission to take part in the challenge and is suitably equipped to participate.

    4. The coach or team owner is responsible for ensuring that the player is supervised and able to participate safely.


  1. Participation at own risk

    1. Participation in the challenge is voluntary and takes place at the participant’s own risk.

    2. Cricket and batting activities involve inherent risks, including, but not limited to, being struck by a ball, injury while batting, injury from equipment, falls, or other accidental harm.

    3. By participating, the participant, team, coach, team owner, parent, and/or guardian accepts these risks.


  1. Liability disclaimer

    1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Winters Solutions CC, its representatives, organisers, staff, contractors, and associated parties will not be held liable for any injury, loss, damage, claim, or harm suffered by any participant, team, coach, team owner, parent, guardian, spectator, or third party before, during, or after participation in the challenge.

    2. This includes, but is not limited to, injuries arising from batting, use of the Brit Bowler, use of practice balls, use of cricket gear, use of physical stumps, slips, falls, collisions, or any other incident connected to the challenge.


  1. Damage to gear and personal property

    1. Participants use their own cricket gear and personal belongings at their own risk.

    2. Winters Solutions CC will not be held liable for any damage to bats, helmets, pads, gloves, clothing, bags, phones, personal belongings, or any other property before, during, or after the challenge.

  2. Media consent

    1. Photographs and videos may be taken during the challenge for use on Winters Solutions CC’s social media platforms, marketing material, event communication, and related promotional content.

    2. By allowing a player to participate, the coach or team owner gives permission for Winters Solutions CC to photograph or film the participant and to use the participant’s name, team name, image, and/or video footage for these purposes.

    3. If a coach, team owner, parent, or guardian does not want a participant to be photographed, filmed, or recognised on social media, Winters Solutions CC must be informed before the player takes part in the challenge.


  1. Conduct

    1. All participants, coaches, team owners, parents, guardians, and spectators are expected to behave respectfully and in the spirit of the competition.

    2. Winters Solutions CC reserves the right to disqualify any participant or team if there is misconduct, unsafe behaviour, interference with the competition, or failure to follow instructions.


  1. Venue

    1. The competition will take place at the cricket nets at Die Hoërskool Menlopark.

    2. Participants, coaches, team owners, parents, guardians, and spectators must respect the venue rules and conduct themselves appropriately while on the premises.


  1. Changes to the competition

    1. Winters Solutions CC reserves the right to amend, postpone, shorten, cancel, or adjust the competition format if required due to weather, safety concerns, timing, operational requirements, equipment issues, venue requirements, or any other reasonable circumstances.


  1. Final decision

    1. All decisions made by Winters Solutions CC regarding participation, scoring, safety, disputes, tie-breakers, disqualification, and the final winner will be final.


  1. Acceptance of terms

    1. By nominating a player, allowing a player to participate, or taking part in the challenge, the participant, team, coach, team owner, parent, and/or guardian accepts these terms and conditions.
